Residues

Fletcher's waste reduction team in NZ has reduced our Taupo operation's landfill waste by 50%. One of the ways we have accomplished this is through finding creative alternative uses for our "arising" products and manufacturing residues.  Some examples of this are:

• Lower grade lumber is used by the packaging industry in pallets and crates. 
• "Slithers" can be used by lattice manufacturers. 
• Sawdust and chips are reclaimed and sold to MDF and particle board manufacturers. 
• Bark is collected from the log yard and debarker to be used in gardening applications.
