Recycling

Until recently, FWS Taupo was sending an average of 83 bins of waste per month to the Land Fill.  Through recognising and eliminating recycleable rubbish from the bins destined for the dump, we are currently sending an average of 44 bins per month.  That is a saving of almost 50%.

We have achieved this by eliminating clean wood waste and steel strap from our dumped waste.  These items are now being recycled elsewhere.  Recycling empty milk bottles, used drink cans, empty spray cans and cardboard packaging is Taupo's next focus.
